TSC- Spring Dates

The Teacher Scholar Collaborative dates for Spring 2012 are as follows — all are from noon – 1:30 in the CTL conference room.

Feb. 3, 2012

As discussed at our last meeting, our focus for spring 2012 will be on collaborative scholarship.
Kelly McDonald (Biological Sciences), Todd Migliaccio (Sociology) and Ann Moylan (Family and Consumer Sciences), will start us off with a discussion of their collaborative research project on service learning.
The second half of the meeting will be devoted to exploring other ideas for collaboration. You are invited to attend and share/explore ideas for collaboration with colleagues.

TSC – Dec 2, 2011 – Adult Learning Theory and Techniques

Dec. 2: Kelly Davenport, Lecturer, Department of Design, will be present a workshop on adult learning theory and techniques. This hooks nicely to our discussion of engaging pedagogies (such as Team-based -Joel Dubois and Problem-based learning-David Mandeville) that facilitate deep, self-directed learning.
